The Association recognizes the need for expanded services in the
traditional family support network. These services are available only
periodically for relief purposes or when needed rather than on a continuous basis.
Outreach Respite This program provides substitute
care giving which will enable families and/or the primary care giver
periods of time away from the individual in order that they may rest,
attend to personal needs, take holidays or participate in outside
activities.
Supportive Housing Respite The Association also
offers Supportive Housing Respite Services to individuals for a
specific period of time. Accommodations are available, with or without
attendant care, to individuals who are physically disabled and/or who
are from out of town and need barrier free accommodation. This service
is offered in a congregate living unit setting located in Barrie. There
is no charge for this service, however a meal fee of $15.00/day is
charged if you choose to have your meals there.
