The Association currently uses fundraising, donations
and grants to subsidize non-government funded programs and services.
With your support, we can continue to provide these services in the
future.
These are the major categories of our work which is supported by community members:
Public Education Program:
Funding
offers a variety of workshops and seminars throughout Simcoe County
regarding understanding the strengths and needs of individuals with
physical disabilities.
We also offer specific training to businesses and their employees on a fee for
service basis.
Volunteer Services:
S.C.A.P.D. provides a variety of volunteer opportunities that enhance services
provided by the Association and foster new initiatives to better service the
needs of persons with disabilities while promoting and recognizing volunteerism
in our organization and communities throughout Simcoe County.
Elaine House:
We own and operate a supported living home in Barrie for 5 individuals
with significant physical disabilities, which requires regular maintenance,
upgrades, etc.
Community Development:
The Association encourages the development of welcoming communities
by offering a variety of supports and encouragement to groups and individuals
to support individuals with physical disabilities and their support networks
throughout Simcoe County.
